We wish to feature harmonie ensembles who perform on either modern or historical instruments and who adhere to the tenets of historically-informed performance practices. Further, our effort is to focus upon 8-part harmonie literature (performed with eight or nine players).  While the term harmoniemusik includes many genres of music and certainly could include the vast wind septet literature, this website is devoted to primarily 8-part harmoniemusik.
